http://www.banggood.com/FrSky-2_4G-ACCST-Taranis-X9D-Plus-Transmitter-p-940819.html

firmware (see http://open-tx.org and http://open-txu.org/ for a LOT of
info on this platform!) to provide a modular 18 channel radio (with
telemetry) for about NZ$350... Not sure if any of you have had any
experience with this kit, but I'm looking forward to getting it into
some planes and perhaps a quadcopter...

You can run the OpenTX "Companion" software on Linux - I was able to
install it as a package called "companion" or "companion9x"(sounds
dodgy, I know) on my Mint 17.1 laptop from the standard Ubuntu repos. It
allows you to configure models and the transmitter behaviour through a
nice gui-based app (seems to be built on the Qt library) as well as
upgrade the transmitter firmware.

Interested to hear if any of the rest of you have used this gear and
have any thoughts/recommendations!

Cheers,

Dave</pre>
